Site Inspections

The Department of Environmental Services‘s Development Services Bureau is responsible for site inspections related to:

• Construction activities in the public right of way (PROW) related to work performed by a private contractor or a public utility company that has been issued an Arlington County PROW permit.
• Construction activities on public improvements associated with private development sites. Public improvements include water mains, sanitary sewer mains, storm sewers, curbs and gutters, sidewalks, roadways, and paving and line striping.
• Land disturbing activities greater than 2,500 square feet associated with any private development that has been issued a land disturbance permit. This includes erosion and sediment control practices and stormwater runoff.
• Lot grading and the installation of stormwater management facilities as shown on an approved plan associated with private development.
