Outpatient Substance Use Services

Services include:

  • Assessment
  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Substance abuse education classes
  • Relapse prevention services
  • Psychiatric evaluations and medication services
  • Dual-diagnosis services
  • Multi-cultural services
  • Drug testing
  • Access to community-based support groups
  • Medication assisted treatment services (Bupernorphine, Nalterxone, and Methadone) 

Case Management and Contractual Substance Use Treatment Services (including withdrawal management)

Residential treatment and case management support for adults with substance use disorders:

  • Individuals are evaluated by case management staff and placed in the appropriate level of residential treatment.
  • Contract services include social and medical detoxification and residential treatment and transitional living placements to facilitate recovery from substance abuse.
  • Case managers monitor clients at contracted agencies.

 

Withdrawal Management:

Medically Monitored Withdrawal Management Services are provided through a structured 24-hour per day setting Services provided include: medical evaluation, observation, medical monitoring, referrals to community resources, and addiction treatment is provided in a residential treatment center setting. Medication assisted treatment induction is available for individuals with a history of alcohol or opioid dependence. Naloxone training for opioid poisoning reversal is available for all treatment participants. Eligibility criteria include individuals who: 

  • Show signs of intoxication or withdrawal from alcohol or other drugs 
  • Have been referred by a treatment provider for evaluation/assessment for placement in residential substance abuse treatment  
  • Are 18 years of age or older 
  • Are not in need of immediate medically-assisted withdrawal management or inpatient psychiatric treatment and 
  • May have co-occurring mental health condition (which does not disqualify an individual from admission to this level of care)  
  • Agree to cooperate by providing basic identifying information 
  • Agree to comply with program rules and procedures

Detention Facility Jail-Based Services

Assessment, early intervention, prevention, treatment and case management services to those incarcerated to prevent further deterioration and involvement in criminal activities.

Services include the ACT Program (prevents deterioration and prepares individuals for recovery from alcohol and drug dependency) and support from the Mental Health Jail Treatment Unit (serves to prevent suicide and facilitate psychiatric and behavioral stabilization). Both programs help connect individuals to outpatient or residential aftercare settings after release.

Eligibility

Clients must have a substance use problem and/or mental illness. Must also be ONE of the following:

  • Arlington resident
  • Homeless
  • Person receiving Medicaid
  • Resident in Arlington psychiatric hospital, jail or other facility
  • Priority is given to pregnant and post-partum women, those living with HIV/AIDS, and intravenous drug users

All individuals reporting a substance problem are screened for services.

Pregnant women are given priority and are seen within 48 hours.

Residential services are for Arlington residents who require more intensive treatment than is available in an outpatient setting and who do not have the financial resources to pay for residential treatment.

Fees

  • We use a sliding fee based on income.
  • Clients with insurance are billed accordingly.
