Arlington Restaurant Initiative

The Arlington Restaurant Initiative (ARI) is a multi-agency program created to protect customers, businesses, and residents in and around Arlington’s nightlife. Under the ARI, restaurant staff receives training in CPR, sexual assault intervention, fake ID detection, and responsible alcohol service to increase the safety of patrons and employees in restaurants that serve alcohol. The public health component of ARI aims to reduce foodborne illness by mitigating five main risk factors: contaminated equipment, inadequate cooking, poor personal hygiene, unsafe food sources, and improper holding temperatures.
