Affordable Housing Master Plan

The Affordable Housing Master Plan (AHMP) defines the County’s affordable housing policy and enables Arlington to respond to the current and future needs of residents of all levels of income in the County. The plan includes the context for affordable housing in Arlington, an analysis of current and future housing needs, and the affordable housing policy.

Annual Reports

See progress of the three broad goals of the Affordable Housing Master Plan – supply, access, and sustainability – and how they work together to ensure that housing affordability and stability are part of Arlington’s vision to be a diverse and inclusive community.

Quarterly Rent Report

Find information on year-over-year rent increases for the County in general and the three planning corridors – Rosslyn-Ballston, Route 1, and Columbia Pike. This report is updated quarterly and also includes information on maximum allowable rents for committed affordable housing compared to average market rent.

Consolidated Plan

The Consolidated Plan provides the strategic framework for housing, homelessness, community development, and economic development activities over a five-year period.

Housing on Columbia Pike

The Columbia Pike Neighborhoods Area Plan is the County’s most ambitious long-term planning effort to preserve affordable housing. It will also preserve historic sites, improve buildings and public spaces, and create walkable and bike-friendly spaces.

Accessory Dwelling Regulations Update

Accessory dwellings are smaller, independent second dwellings on a single-family lot.

Affordable Housing Dashboard

Arlington County’s Housing Division has created an interactive online dashboard which compiles information about Arlington’s housing needs and affordable housing supply.
