E-Bike Voucher Program

Arlington County is leveraging Federal grant funding to support the implementation of the Community Energy Plan (CEP). Through this funding, the AIRE team is working to enable residents to live healthier, more equitable and sustainable lifestyles that reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Arlington. 

Recently, the County received $267,820 from the Department of Energy’s Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program for an application developed by the AIRE team to provide e-bike vouchers to the community.

The voucher program will support the County’s CEP through incentivizing residents to adopt lower-emission transportation options by shifting from single-occupancy vehicles to e-bikes. This program is set to launch by Spring 2025 and plans to provide nearly 250 e-bike vouchers, ranging from $600 to $1,650 based on income. The enhanced vouchers will ensure access for Arlington residents to participate in this program that reduces greenhouse gas emissions and provides additional transportation options.
