Adopt-a-Park Program Volunteer Job Description

Qualifications

  • Interested and willing to assume responsibility for maintaining or improving a public site.
  • Must be 18 years or older to be a volunteer project leader. Project leaders assume the lead role for a group, a business or for yourself for individual interest. Project participants may be younger than 18 years old if written parent permission is granted and proper adult supervision is provided.
  • Adopters are encouraged to use their own supplies and provide own funding for projects.

Requirements

  • Agree to a minimum term of one year.
  • Submit an application for approval.
  • Conduct an on-site walk through to formalize an agreement.
  • Submit completed special event and group registration form for each scheduled service day.
  • Provide at least two cleanup days per year with advance notification to the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) project coordinator.
  • Adhere to program safety tips and conditions of adoption.
  • Submit report forms after each scheduled cleanup day to the DPR project coordinator.
