Dominion Energy and other public utilities have easements which grants their personnel, as well as their tree trimming contractors, right of ingress and egress as it relates to providing safe and reliable power within their rights-of-way.

Dominion energy’s forestry professionals follow ANSI (American National Standards Institute) A300 pruning standards and Z133 safety standards during their vegetation management operations. Notification of vegetation management

Under current regulations governed by the Virginia SCC, Arlington County has no jurisdictional powers to enforce notifications by public utilities as proposed. Arlington County continues to work with Dominion Energy to coordinate tree trimming and vegetation management actions that affect county property, such as within our park system. Notifications from Dominion Energy are a courtesy to property owners.
