Glass dropped off at Arlington sites is now purchased by a recycler. For home disposal, glass not destined for drop-off should be placed in the black curbside trash carts -- not the blue single-stream carts.
Celebrate Recycling in a Corner of Quincy Park
The Quincy Park Recycling Interpretive Center, adjacent to the Quincy recycling drop-off site, pays tribute to Arlington recycling efforts and the goal of closing a loop through the reuse of organics and inert material generated in the County. The interpretive center debuted on Earth Day 2009.

Most of the center's components were processed through the County’s Earth Products Recycling Yard in Shirlington. The berms are made from processed dirt; the wood and leaf mulch from leaves and brush collected throughout the County; the pathways made from crushed aggregate; the walls from reused sidewalk; the benches from recycled plastic; and the metal recycling/trash receptacles are from recycled aluminum and steel. All elements help tell the story of the County’s commitment to a sustainable future.
A collaboration between the Department of Environmental Services and Department of Parks & Recreation, the interpretive center was renovated and revitalized for its tenth anniversary in 2019.

Explore this small-but-unique park and leave with a better understanding of Arlington’s recycling commitment and services.
