WRAPS Process

The Arlington County Board adopted the Western Rosslyn Area Plan (WRAPS) at their July 21, 2015 meeting. The recommendations of this community planning process include a new secondary school on the Wilson School site, a new Fire Station #10, a new Rosslyn Highlands Park plus another small public park space, mixed-use development and increased affordable housing development.

September 24, 2013 County Board Meeting The County Board approved a revised Working Group Charge and appointed Working Group Members.View previous WRAPS Charge documents.
May 13, 2014 County Board Meeting The County Board approved a revised Working Group Charge and added additional representatives to the Working Group.

March 4, 2015 County Board Work Session The County Board reviewed staff’s recommendations and  provided guidance on what should be evaluated further.
April 10, 2015 Joint County Board-School Board Work Session Joint work session between the County Board and the School Board on school siting, per the Public Facilities Review process.
April – June 2015 Draft Plan preparation, Advisory Boards and Commissions Review The draft Western Rosslyn Area Plan was reviewed by advisory boards and commissions, including the Long Range Planning Committee of the Planning Commission.

July 6, 2015 Planning Commission Review Public hearing with the Planning Commission to consider recommending adoption of the Western Rosslyn Area Plan.
July 21, 2015 County Board Meeting The County Board voted unanimously to adopt the Western Rosslyn Area Plan.
