Transportation Demand Management Strategic Plan
Arlington County Commuter Services is the transportation demand management (TDM) provider for Arlington County. This TDM Plan fulfills a state requirement administered by the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation requiring that TDM agencies complete a TDM Plan every six years.
TDM Plans in Virginia serve a variety of purposes, including:
- Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of TDM programs and services
- Serving as a management and policy document for TDM program operators
- Maximizing the investment of public funds and achieving the greatest possible public benefit
- Providing the basis for including an agency’s operating and capital programs in statewide transportation improvement plans
This plan supports the demand and system management element of the County’s Master Transportation Plan.
