It has been 17 years since the County completed a stream restoration project on Donaldson Run Tributary A. The County has completed some maintenance work on Donaldson Run Tributary A in summer 2024.  The contractor completed the instream work in August, 2024.  Planting will be completed in September.

The maintenance work included:

  • Repairing and protecting the outfall at N. Utah Street from overland runoff from the cul-de-sac,
  • Repairing the mulch trail above the pedestrian bridge,
  • Removing excess stone and sediment that eroded from Tributary B (prior to the recent improvement project) and re-establish the capacity of the Tributary A stream channel upstream of the pedestrian bridge,
  • Preventing stream flow from entering two sanitary manholes along the mulch trail,
  • Completing additional minor repairs to stone structures and limited sediment removal to protect sanitary infrastructure, and
  • Planting native trees and shrubs in the vicinity of the repairs.

Supplemental plantings: 195 trees, 92 shrubs, 2000 live stakes
