Project Background

The public engagement to rename 11th Street North and North Danville Street Park is completed. The 164 respondents ranked “11th Street Park” as their most preferred park name with “Danville Park” as their second preferred name. On May 24, the Park and Recreation Commission (PRC) reviewed the proposed “11th Street Park” name and heard testimony from representatives of the Clarendon-Courthouse Civic Association in support of the name. Next, the Neighborhood Conservation Advisory Committee and by the Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board will consider “11th Street Park” at their June meetings. On June 28, the Park and Recreation Commission will review their feedback and vote on a park name recommendation for the County Board, who will make the final decision.
