About the Project

The Douglas Park Renovation Phase 1 project include the replacement of the round picnic shelter closest to S. Randolph Street, the wooden pedestrian bridge crossing the stream, site furnishings, trail and stormwater management improvements, invasive management in the forested area, as well as additional plantings.

Project Goals:

  • Replace the existing picnic shelter and wooden pedestrian bridge with improved structures.
  • Improve the paths within the park to ensure accessibility and circulation.
  • Upgrade existing site furnishings (picnic tables, park benches, trash and recycle bins) and add new ones.
  • Improve stormwater management. 
  • Remove invasive plants.

Summer/Fall 2024 - Concept Design Feedback

The first community engagement for Douglas Park Phase 1 is open through September 6, 2024. Please provide your feedback on the draft concept design via the online feedback form, which you can access using this link.

Community input will help inform the design of a final draft concept, which will be shared at a later date.
