Office of the Fire Marshal (OFM)

The primary focus of the Office of the Fire Marshal (FMO) in the initiative is working with businesses to provide guidance on fire safe practices for businesses and Assembly occupancies, such as proper maintenance of mechanical and fire protection equipment, maintaining and upholding the Statewide Fire Prevention Code. Separate from the Fire Department, the Fire Marshal's Office focuses on Fire Code Enforcement, through public education, community engagement programs, fire investigations, community connect, providing special event permits, and more. The OFM plays a critical role in protecting lives and property in Arlington County by reducing fire risks and promoting a safer community environment.
